Teej Festival Celebrated with Great Enthusiasm at IET Bhaddal Technical Campus

The Teej festival was celebrated with great enthusiasm and joy at IET Bhaddal Technical Campus, Rupnagar, with the aim of connecting students with Punjabi culture and heritage. The campus presented a vibrant picture of Punjabi traditions and cultural colours during the event. On the occasion, faculty members and girl students participated in the celebrations dressed in traditional Punjabi attire. Various activities including Giddha, Boliyan, Kikli, folk songs, cultural performances and other entertaining activities were organised. The students participated enthusiastically and showcased their talent and creativity. Mehndi, traditional Punjabi attire and traditional decorations remained the major attractions of the celebration. The colourful Punjabi suits, Phulkari and Parandas worn by the students further enhanced the beauty and charm of the event. Speaking on the occasion, Chairman of the Institute, Tejinder Singh, said that such cultural events play an important role in developing love and respect among students for their heritage, folk arts and Punjabi culture. He appreciated the efforts of the students and staff for making the event a success. Director Campus, Dr. S.S. Bindra, in his address, said that traditional cultural festivals play an important role alongside the regular teaching and learning process in promoting unity, love and positive human development. He emphasised that such festivals should continue to be celebrated to keep the younger generation connected with its rich cultural heritage.

Group Director (Academics), Dr. Gurpreet Singh, said that festivals like Teej play a significant role in connecting the younger generation with its cultural roots. Overall, the Teej celebration proved to be a memorable occasion filled with joy, entertainment and a strong sense of connection with Punjabi culture for the students. At the end of the event, girl students who gave outstanding performances in various cultural activities were honoured. Among those present on the occasion were Dr. Kanchan Sharma, Dr. Taranjeet Kaur, Bhawanpreet Kaur, Disha Thakur, Nitika Sharma, Sharanpreet Kaur, Jashanpreet Kaur, Yogita Sharma and Pooja Sharma, along with other faculty members and staff.
