One day Workshop âHands-on training on Internet on Things (IoT)
The Department of Computer Science Engineering (CSE) in association with Department of Electrical Engineering (EE) IET Bhaddal Technical Campus organised one-day hands-on workshop on the Internet of Things (IoT) for B.Tech CSE and EE students on 14th October 2024, under the initiative of the Institution's Innovation Council (IIC), a program driven by the Ministry of HRD Govt. of India.
The resource person for the event, Mr. Karan Sharma, Assistant Professor at IET Bhaddal, shared his extensive knowledge on IoT technology and its real-world applications. He provided an engaging introduction to IoT, focusing on how interconnected devices communicate and how IoT is revolutionizing industries across the globe.
During the workshop, participants gained hands-on experience in implementing live IoT projects. The core of the workshop was the interfacing of a microcontroller (ATMEGA328P) with various sensors and outputs, including an LED, an LCD, and a gas sensor. Mr. Karan Sharma guided the students step-by-step to develop a Smart Kitchen project. This project demonstrated how IoT can enhance safety and automation in everyday life, with sensors detecting gas leaks and displaying alerts on an LCD while controlling devices like LEDs.
Dr. Gurpreet Singh, ended up the session by giving vote of thanks to Mr. Karan and gave heartfelt thanks to students for their active participation in the workshop.
