Successful Organization of ‘Run for Swadeshi’ on National Youth Day at IET Bhaddal Technical Campus

On the occasion of National Youth Day, dedicated to the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda Ji, the IET Bhaddal Technical Campus successfully organized the ‘Run for Swadeshi’ in accordance with the guidelines issued by the University Grants Commission (UGC) and I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University (IKG-PTU).

The main objective of this run was to spread awareness among students about the thoughts of Swami Vivekananda and the significance of National Youth Day, and to inspire the younger generation. Faculty members and students participated in the event with great enthusiasm. The route of the run was planned within the designated areas of the IET Bhaddal Technical campus.

On this occasion, the Registrar-cum-Director of the campus, Dr. S. S. Bindra in his message stated that the thoughts of Swami Vivekananda are a timeless source of inspiration for today’s youth. He emphasized that ‘Run for Swadeshi’ is not merely a race, but an important initiative that connects young people with a healthy lifestyle, self-reliance and nation-building. He encouraged students to adopt Swadeshi products, support indigenous industries and actively contribute to nation-building.

Sharing his views, Dr. Gurpreet Singh, Group Director (Academics) said that programs like ‘Run for Swadeshi’ strengthen discipline, social responsibility and the spirit of patriotism among students. He added that such activities play a vital role in the overall development of students.

In the student category (boys), Sahil Kumar, Anand Parkash and Chand Kujra secured the first, second, and third positions respectively, while in the student category (girls), Taranveer Kaur and Smriti secured the top positions. Similarly, in the faculty category (boys), Vijay Kumar, Sharad and Kulveer Singh secured the first, second and third positions respectively, while in the faculty category (girls), Neha Mehandiratta, Damini and Pooja Sharma secured the first, second and third positions.

The college management made proper arrangements for medical assistance, timekeeping, volunteer support and refreshments. At the conclusion of the event, Dr. Bindra felicitated the winners by presenting trophies and medals. In addition, all participants of ‘Run for Swadeshi’ were also encouraged and honored with medals.

Dr. Bindra appreciated the efforts of Coordinator Onkar Singh and the committee members for the successful organization of the program. On this occasion, Dr. Kanchan Sharma, Bhawanpreet Kaur, Nileshwar Taak, Rohit Chandel, Bharat Bhushan, Yogita Sharma, Tejinder Kaur and others were present.
