Dr Harjinder Singh Cheema shares the mantra of becoming a successful entrepreneur with the youth

Today at IET Bhaddal Technical Campus, under the guidelines of I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical
University, as part of the Orientation Program for students admitted to Session 2025–26, a
guest lecture was organized on the topic “Let’s Create Entrepreneurs to Employ the Youth.”
The program featured Punjab’s source of inspiration for entrepreneurs and Chairman of
Cheema Boilers Limited, Dr. Harjinder Singh Cheema, as the keynote speaker.
The program began with a welcome address by Charanjit Kaur, Assistant Professor, who
warmly welcomed the chief guest, faculty, staff, and students, and shed light on Dr. Cheema’s
biography
In his address, Dr. Cheema shared with students his personal journey, the challenges he
faced as an entrepreneur, and how to turn a small business into a large success. Drawing on
his vast experience, he gave detailed insights on the first steps to starting a business,
identifying market opportunities, and risk management.
He said, “Youth are the greatest asset of the nation. If we give them the right direction and
opportunities, they will not only brighten their own future but will also contribute significantly
to the nation’s economy.” He emphasized that in the modern era, startup culture, innovation,
and digital marketing are among the most important tools for success.
He encouraged students to become job creators instead of job seekers and to develop the
qualities required to be a successful entrepreneur—such as skills, hard work, risk-taking
ability, and passion.
Registrar-cum-Director of the campus, Dr. S.S. Bindra, said that the institution is always
committed to providing students with new knowledge, skills, and motivation. He also
announced that in the future, more programs related to entrepreneurship, technology, and
innovation will be organized. On this occasion, he honored the chief guest, Dr. Harjinder Singh
Cheema, by presenting him with a memento.
Dr. Gurpreet Singh, Principal – Engineering, said that the objective of this guest lecture was
to provide career direction to the newly admitted students. He urged students to apply all the
lessons learned in today’s lecture to their lives.
The guest lecture concluded with a vote of thanks by Pooja Sharma, HR Manager, who
